Dr. Meleka was born and raised on Staten Island. She attended college at New York University and medical school at The University of Buffalo School of Medicine where she was recognized with the Gold Humanism Award.
Desiring to give back to her community, Dr. Meleka underwent her residency training at Richmond University Medical Center. She quickly established herself as a leader, and developed a proficiency in the management of routine and high-risk pregnancies as well as gynecological surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures before becoming Chief Resident in her fourth year.
Dr. Meleka now focuses on the education and empowerment of young women to make decisions about their health and well-being.
Catherine is married and, when not engrossed in the care of her patients, she enjoys time with her husband Mark, their irresistible dog Daisy, and her extremely large, loud, and lovable extended family.
