Dr. Benson has been delivering babies in Staten Island since 1998 when he began his residency training at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and it has been his passion ever since. He completed his undergraduate studies and medical education at Rutgers University / Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, as part of their prestigious 7--year BA/MD program, and graduated his residency training as a Chief Resident, receiving several awards and distinctions in the process.

 

     He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at New York Medical College.  He is highly skilled in the management of routine and high-risk pregnancies, as well as in various aspects of gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. Despite being exceptionally well trained in the surgical treatment of various conditions, Dr. Benson values a conservative approach to multiple gynecologic disorders, including abnormal pap smears, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, etc., and always recommends starting with the least invasive treatment modality.

 

     Dr. Benson lives in New Jersey with his wife and two kids. When he is not working, he enjoys playing with his Golden Retriever, traveling, skiing, mountain biking, rock concerts, playing guitar, and riding his Harley-Davidson. Dr. Benson is fluent in English and Russian.
